MIC Food
is a wholly owned family business headed by Alfredo
Lardizabal Sr, a world wide respected business man with
over twenty years of experience in the import of fruits
and vegetables into the US. MIC specializes in the production
and import of frozen plantain products. Our goal is
simple: to provide high quality, fruit and vegetable
products, to customers throughout the US and the world,
bringing a Caribbean taste to their menu.
MIC first launched its frozen plantain
tostones for the retail market under a private brand.
Using his imagination and his ability to recognize products
that could provide consumer value, he successfully introduced
other plantain items including,
sweet plantain slices and
baked plantains.
Since the first product introduction in 1987, MIC
Food has enjoyed steady growth stimulated by the addition
of other plantain items such as plantain
turnovers and plantain toston
cups and canapés.
MIC also carries a line of frozen
fruits and pulps as well as frozen
cassava products. MIC’s commitment to quality
and service has opened the door to supply food service
restaurants throughout the US. MIC counts with its own
sources of supply in South America to guarantee timely
delivery of its products to its valued customers. MIC’s
plants are HACCP certified as well as Kosher approved
and their commitment to excellence is unmatched.
